Calgary Regional Trail Riders

The purpose of the Calgary Regional Trail Riders Club (CRTR) is to increase enjoyment, improve safety and further educate its members in relation to equine activities. To this end, CRTR activities will include but not be limited to: organizing day and weekend rides; organizing the entry and participation of members as a group in parades; and sponsoring and promoting participation in horse-related seminars and conferences. In order to make a contribution to the general community, the CRTR may undertake fund raising activities for one or more registered charities.

The club generally plans to meet every other month except during the summer at the Okotoks Ag Society. Near the end of November the AGM is held at an announced location.  Please inquire about the next meeting by emailing to: info@calgaryregionaltrailriders.com to confirm meeting date and location.  Show up any time and see what we are about! We are a non-profit, breed independent club. Everyone is welcome to join us!

August 8, 2022

At our meeting on April 12, 2022, it was passed by majority vote to increase our membership fees.  The new fees will be $55 for a single member and $85 for a family membership, effective immediately.

The Board has decided that due to the increasing cost of providing PayPal to our members, we will discontinue its use altogether.  ALL payments will be accepted by e-transfer only for any memberships or events that the club offers, effective immediately.

At the Board meeting on June 7, it was decided to slightly modify the Cancellation Policy to update payment requirements by e-transfer only, and to refund all of the member cost if a member cancels from a clinic after the 3 week grace period AND a replacement is found for his/her spot.  Other items in the policy have been upheld and anyone whose cancellation is invoiced has the opportunity to appeal to the Board of Directors, either in person at a Board meeting, or by email.

Updated plans for this year include:

- Clinics continue to be organized and include a 3 day Horsemanship clinic with Steve Rother (https://schoolofhorse.com), and a cow sorting clinic with Jesse O'Brien & Donna O'Reilly.  Other events being planned include a cowboy challenge and a gymkhana.

- Our next general meeting will take place on Tuesday, Sept.27, 2022, in the lobby of the Okotoks Ag Society.  Please join us!

Have a great summer!
